Small Groups

Are you interested in leading, hosting, or joining a small group? The Elders have been discussing how to best encourage and organize these groups for those who are. If you have interest please talk to one of our Elders, Mitch Giger. We would like to gauge some interest and from there will discuss details and requirements!

FBC Weston Youth Group Update

There will be no FBC Weston Youth for the next 2 Sundays. On May 4th we will kick off our Summer Days Schedule. See the calendar above! All incoming 6th grade students are invited to join us on May 4th for their first youth group gathering!

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

For the months of March & April we will be taking up a special offering for the North American Mission Board's Annie Armstrong Easter Offering! This specific offering goes directly to the missionaries funded by NAMB. For more information click here! We have set a $3,000 goal this year. If the Lord is leading you to give you will find special envelopes in the chair backs in front of you. Place your offering in the envelope and drop it in the offering back in the back!

Regarding Resurrection Sunday: Please remember to park on the old ball field if you are able. With three baptisms on top of Easter we are anticipating a good sized crowd. Be ready to scoot in to prepare room for our visitors. We are looking forward to gathering!

Our next Family Meeting will be April 27th following service. Men & Children Camping Trip

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Camping Trip. This trip is open to ALL men and their children (if they have them). You do not have to have children to come. This is a Men's event that is open to all children as well (not just boys)! If you have children that would like to attend but don't have a guardian that can come with them just let us know. We have made accommodations to make sure that all children can attend. We will meet at the Moran's farm on Friday, May 2nd and depart sometime midday Saturday, May 3rd. Everything is FREE! Sign-up by clicking here!

PRC Tour

The PRC Table is FULL! If you have not brought your Baby Bottles back you still can. The PRC Tour date is May 17 at 10:00 a.m.  We will take all the items that have been collected to the PRC and Director, Libby Owens will give us a tour of the facility. If you have not been on a tour of the PRC facility we highly recommend you do so. It is worth your time to learn more about this vital ministry we support at FBC Weston. Let Mark or Becky Henkel know if you would like to attend and they will share more details!

Pastor's Pen

Brothers & Sisters,

This weekend was fun and full circle! I failed to mention this in service so I'll do so here. When the Lord called the Sands Family to FBC Weston I was consuming anything Mark Clifton put out. I had read his book, Reclaiming Glory, before I even preached my first sermon. Looking for helpful resources I stumbled upon a podcast called, "Not Another Baptist Podcast" and said "Yep!" as soon as I saw the title. The podcast was hosted by none other than Kyle Bueerman and a pastor friend of his when they were both pastoring churches in southern New Mexico and northern Texas. Kyle authored a little book titled, "They Devoted Themselves" which overviewed Acts 2:42-47. I told Kyle I needed to confess to the church that our mission of "existing for the Kingdom and for the community" was not only inspired by Midwestern's mission but also stolen from his book! The way we accomplish that work is through devotion to the ordinary means of grace; a devotion to God's word, each other, the ordinances, prayer, and hospitality. Kyle was gracious and said, "Well, if you tell them you stole it from me, I'll just tell them I stole it from the Bible."

Kyle and I became fast friends this weekend. As much as he encouraged us he was greatly encouraged to see that so much of the work that God has called him to (seeing small town and rural churches renewed) is seeing fruit. He was very blessed by the time he was able to share with many in the SJBA and especially those at FBC Weston!

The Lord is on the move and I'm thankful to be on this ride with you!
